BOISE, Id. (June 26, 2014)
Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-TALK), the state’s only nationally certified suicide prevention hotline and a program of Mountain States Group, is pleased to announce that the United Way of Treasure Valley’s Vision Council has approved a $50,000 grant to the hotline. This generous gift is in addition to start-up funding provided in 2012 and helps ISPH achieve the goal of 24/7 operations this Fall.
ISPH offers crisis intervention, emotional support and resource referrals as well as critical follow-up calls to persons seeking help. Says hotline Director John Reusser, “We are so grateful for the United Way of Treasure Valley’s gift, and their inspiring commitment to saving lives and improving the health and well-being of residents of the Treasure Valley, and our entire state, through their support of the hotline.”
The hotline is seeking volunteers for its next Phone Responder training which begins August 2nd. To get involved, call 258-6992 or visit idahosuicideprevention.org
